I’m back. I hope you all enjoyed Shahid’s November selection of stories as much as I did. As I recall from my first time as guest editor, it is a harrowing experience trying not to let the magazine down. I think he did us proud.

As for now … February, springtime, the month of Saint Valentine when girls and boys, men and women , send cards to each other and buy outrageously-priced flowers and presents to profess their undying love; romantic interest; or sheer licentiousness. I’m pleased to have picked stories which follow in that vein. Hardly!

To give our readers relief from this annual commercial affliction, we have a gripping selection of the horrendously obverse and askew, the dark, and the disloyal. Enjoy!
